Advanced Eco Tourism
We here at Ningaloo Reef Dreaming are proud recipients of an "Advanced Ecotourism" certification from Ecotourism Australia.
This means that we are committed to the conservation of the environment in delivery of our product while upholding to the best practice possible when using resources. As an operator, we help the local communities and provide opportunities to learn about the environment.
Formed in 1991, Ecotourism Australia being a non-profit organization gave ecotourism the following definition:
"Ecotourism is ecologically sustainable tourism with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas that fosters environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation".
“The ECO Certification logo is a globally recognized brand which assists travelers to choose and experience a genuine and authentic tour, attraction, cruise or accommodation that is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. The ECO Certification program assures travelers that certified products are backed by a strong, well managed commitment to sustainable practices and provides high quality nature-based tourism experiences.”
The vision we share with Australia ecotourism is the following:
"To be leaders in assisting ecotourism and other committed tourism operations to become environmentally sustainable, economically viable, and socially and culturally responsible".
